To celebrate International Womens Day, our year 6 sports leaders hosted a Charity penalty shootout to raise money for the @Womeninsport_uk charity, who’s aim is to tackle gender inequality and push for lifelong female participation in sports⚽️
Congratulations to our Swimming team today who took part in the annual Catholic Schools Swimming Gala! Our team of children from year 4,5 and 6 performed unbelievably today, finishing 2nd out of 8 east schools, and 2nd overall, narrowly missing out on first place by 1 point!💚🏆
Today our Yr 5&6 team played a football fixture against @PearlHydeSchool ⚽️ It was a very entertaining match, with chances for both sides, but the defences stood firm as the game finished 1-1💪🏻 We can’t wait for the next game💚 Well done Corpus
Our Yr 3&4 teams played their first ever games yesterday as welcomed @SacredHeartCov to Corpus⚽️ Both teams gave 100% and it was a great opportunity for some of our up and coming footballers to show off their talents! Well done everyone💚
This week Coventry schools have been taking part in a tag rugby tournament to celebrate the arrival of the Rugby League World Cup in Coventry!

To commemorate the beginning of the Rugby League World Cup in England this week, 8 of our Year 6 pupils took part in a Tag Rugby competition this afternoon. It was a valiant effort from Corpus, in a new sport to the children, and was rewarded with a 2nd place finish! Well done💚
The Boys football team’s season began this week with 2 fixtures vs St Elizabeth’s and St Anne’s. Their character, ability and spirit in both games has shone through and we are certain that a win is not far away! Keep up the hard work boys 💚
On Friday our netball team played their first game of the year against @SSPP_Coventry. It was a fantastic game with both schools showing their quality. It was a winning start for Corpus and we look forward to building on this result and performance after half term 🏐
Our year 5&6 girls football team had their first games of the year this afternoon as they welcomed @SJFCoventry and @StGregsPrimary to Corpus. Each school played eachother once and it was fantastic way to begin the new girls football league. Well done girls 💚
What a busy week of after school activities last week! Year 5&6 continued preparation for their upcoming netball fixtures with @waspsnetball 🏐 and our year 4&5 dancers got to work putting together a new dance routine with @danceworks_cov 💃🏼
Year 6 continued their unit of Hockey in PE this afternoon, working on passing and dribbling and then putting their practice to the test in a series of small sided games 🏑
A fantastic turnout for Year 3 & 4 afterschool Football club ⚽️ 28 children came prepared and ready to show off their football skills as they took part in a mini tournament 💪🏻
The children then let their artistic juices flow as they looked to create a logo for the project, which will be created and applied to T-shirts which they will receive.
We look forward to the next event in a couple of months time!!!
Following the success of the Commonwealth Connections project last year, we have continued our partnership with the participant schools across Coventry as we look towards the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024🥇🇫🇷
Mr Clark led a workshop where the children became the teachers and worked with eachother to create, set up and deliver their own sports activities using a range of different space, equipment and their own ideas.
Year 5 and 6 Netball club kicked off this week, with a qualified @waspsnetball coach, as the children prepare to kick off the new league season in a few weeks time🏐

Year 3 and 4 worked on their hockey skills, learning how to correctly hold their hockey stick and pass and dribble a hockey ball individually and within teams 🏑

Pe@Corpus is back and this week Reception have continued their fantastic start to life at school by working on the fundamental skill of throwing and catching ball🥎
