@Buhles__ @OtsileJK That is because they are not selling super luxury or Sport bakkies but rather a very reliable workhorse that can be fuel efficient & perform all tasks without any glitches.Even the tuned GR the extra 15kw & 50Nm are very negligible in the grand scheme of the Hilux’s capabilities.

@Buhles__ @OtsileJK You are missing my point unfortunately or rather my question was perhaps not clear enough. Given Toyota’s target market and the tasks that their Hilux is designed to perform, the car is not necessarily lacking in power and torque. Hence even the interior they hardly touch it.
