انطلاقًا من مبادئ حقوق الإنسان التي كفلها الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان والعهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق المدنية والسياسية، يؤكد مركز السلام العالمي أن الحق في التواصل هو من الحقوق الأساسية التي لا يجوز المساس بها.

إن لغة الإشارة ليست مجرد وسيلة للتخاطب، بل هي وعاء للهوية الثقافية والكرامة الإنسانية لملايين الصم وضعاف السمع حول العالم. تجاهل هذا الحق يُعد انتقاصًا من مبدأ المساواة وعدم التمييز، وهو ما يتعارض مع التزامات المجتمع الدولي في إطار القانون الدولي لحقوق الإنسان.

يدعو مركز السلام العالمي الدول والحكومات والمؤسسات التعليمية والإعلامية إلى:
1.الاعتراف الرسمي بلغة الإشارة في التشريعات الوطنية.
2.ضمان توفير الترجمة بلغة الإشارة في الفضاءات العامة، وخاصة في الخدمات الصحية والتعليمية والقضائية.
3.إشراك الأشخاص الصم وضعاف السمع في صنع القرار المتعلق بحقوقهم.

إن تعزيز استخدام لغة الإشارة هو تعزيز لحق أساسي من حقوق الإنسان، وخطوة نحو عالم أكثر عدالة وإنصافًا، حيث يكون الجميع قادرًا على التعبير عن ذاته والتواصل مع الآخرين بكرامة وحرية.

on the International Day of Sign Languages

Grounded in the principles of human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the World Peace Center affirms that the right to communication is a fundamental right that must be protected and respected.

Sign language is not merely a tool of communication; it is an essential part of the cultural identity and human dignity of millions of deaf and hard-of-hearing people worldwide. To neglect this right is to undermine the principles of equality and non-discrimination, in direct contradiction to international human rights law.

The World Peace Center calls upon states, governments, and institutions to:
1.Officially recognize sign languages in national legislation.
2.Ensure the provision of sign language interpretation in public services, particularly in healthcare, education, and justice.
3.Include deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in decision-making processes that affect their rights.

Promoting the use of sign languages means promoting human rights and dignity. It is a step toward building a more just and inclusive world, where everyone can express themselves freely and equally.
