Sorry, but a partner who ruins your mental health cannot be the love of your life. Ever. I know you love them. I know you've built a future in your mind with them. I know you keep hoping they’ll change, that things will get better, that the good moments will eventually outweigh the bad.
But here's the truth you need to hear: real love doesn't destroy you. Real love doesn't leave you anxious, depressed, constantly questioning yourself, walking on eggshells, or losing pieces of who you are. That's not love, that's trauma bonding.
@Angelmama@TheMiddleborne Yeah. It's not dissimilar to the criteria we use to declare someone brain dead. Whatever you're going to say next, just know that there's no scenario where I would say that the rights of a fetus would outweigh the rights of the person that is expected to carry birth and raise it.
@Angelmama@TheMiddleborne Fetus rights don't trump the rights of the person expected to carry, birth, and raise it. Also, having a heartbeat or a developing brain doesn't make them conscious or fully formed. So the choice should still be there for the one who actually is a fully developed human.
@Angelmama@TheMiddleborne We also have a right to decide what does and doesn't happen to our bodies. A fetus isn't owed more rights than the fully actualized human that's carrying it.
@Angelmama@TheMiddleborne I agree, it's refreshing to talk to someone you disagree with but in a civil way. But do you not think that there's a reason it's called a birth certificate and not a conception certificate?
@Angelmama@TheMiddleborne Yeah, if that's when they can live without the womb. The only abortions that happen after 5 months are because of devastating medical reasons. So it should still be allowed. Because the human who's carrying it, her life is worth saving, too.
