Angelina Jolie visited two historic cinemas in Battambang today, Prasat Meas Theater and Battambang Cinema, both built in the 1960s. She was invited by Phare Ponleu Selpak, the well-known local arts organization, to explore restoring the old venues. Provincial governor and local officials joined the visit.

This follows yesterday’s stop at Samlaot High School to check on student boarding facilities. Jolie has longstanding ties to Cambodia and Battambang province specifically, where she adopted her son Maddox in 2002.
