I honestly believe that Simons is an intelligence asset. From the way he circumvented normal recruitment procedures to be placed in Jeremy Corbyn’s office at the behest of Iain McNicol and Emilie Oldknow; his spying on colleagues, his sudden departure and labelling of them all as anti-Semites, his teaming-up with McSweeney and their secret backers to form Labour Together and that syndicate’s full-on taking down of Corbyn’s leadership; McSweeney, Matt Faulding and Mandelson parachuting him into the Makerfield seat and everything that’s happened since. It hasn’t been a ‘normal’ political career arc to say the least.
