It is unfortunate to see how many are celebrating a high risk day. This is going to be a bad day, HOPEFULLY most of the damage is in open country. Chaser convergence is going to be out of control, this could very well be a day where chasers get killed. Please be careful, all.

A dangerous outbreak of severe thunderstorms is expected this afternoon into tonight across parts of central/eastern KS and much of OK. Multiple strong, long-track tornadoes, very large hail (2-4 inch) and damaging gusts to 80 mph are all possible this afternoon into tonight.

Today is a rare day where I am struggling to focus on tonight’s 7:00pm CT game between @evvthunderbolts & Huntsville, a trivial matter compared to the horrific destruction & tragedy that occurred just to our South & Northwest last night.

@daooadda @NWStornado Likely not. Outdoor sirens are made to warn those who are outside. Very hard to hear indoors against the sound of heavy rain and thunder. That’s why weather radios and phone alerts are needed.
