The punishment doesn't fit the crime here.... though I understand not wanting to have every rider wearing these types of glasses and recording the event, or potentially using a HUD for real-time race information.
Today I was disqualified for the first time in my cycling career (14 years), for wearing glasses that record video. Unfortunately I was not aware of a new rule that was implemented in April that prohibited this. A warning, fine or yellow card could have also been enough. But what I struggle to understand is why In the Tour de France can you quite literally vlog with a camera in your hand which is perfectly legal...but because the camera is in the glasses you get an automatic Disqualification?! Yes, If I knew about the rule I would have also never posted it on social media. Anyways, I'll take it on the chin. Here is the video that got me disqualified & the other video is just to show what is completely allowed it seems. And lastly, my glasses have absolutely no AI capabilities unless used with a phone. So on the bike it can do nothing but record video!
Anyone heard about this? “Quahl is an attempt by ex-PayPal guys to create a new payment system instead of payment cards that were designed in the 1950s.” https://t.co/JJNq0GEhpe

@HighSpeedVets@RoseMar95753967@OccupyDemocrats There are people that I love who can’t be vaccinated yet. I wish everyone who can be vaccinated, would do so, to protect those who can’t. Also, just because I disagree with someone, doesn’t mean I don’t care if they die needlessly.
Faith in humanity partly restored today while fixing a flat at the side of the road, a few cyclists gave a nod as they went past, and then a couple came by and asked if I had everything I needed, I did, but it was refreshing to be asked as I do when the other way round #Thankyou
Snuck out early this morning to churn the pedals! Watching the sunrise from behind the handlebars helps clear the head. It was just me and a gaggle of geese in Babylon, NY at that hour.
It’s #Juneteenth This is the first time in my career a company I worked for gave its staff the day off the celebrate this holiday. I suppose this is progress. I’ll spend some time today quietly reflecting on how I can do better and be a better ally.

Not sure what I’m going to do first when it’s safe to travel again. But taking a hike will definitely be high up on the list. Until then, virtual wanderlust will just have to do. Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. #wanderlust#travelphotography#multnomahfalls
Le Tour de France will take place on the planned route, with no changes, from Nice to Paris, from Saturday 29th August to Sunday 20th September.

Gotta say, a #SilverLining of everyone in my suburban community staying home is that the roads are empty. I’ve had some great road rides these past few weeks. And the air is way cleaner than normal. Be safe! And practice social distancing! #COVID19#cycling
New bike day! If I wasn’t about to head in to work, I’d be assembling and riding it! More photos to come after assembly. #NewBicycleDay#unboxing thanks for the fast ship @canyon_bikes
