First and longest running #ProofofStake blockchain, since 2012. Sustainable security. Decentralized. Fairly distributed (no ICO, no premine, no presale or CEO).
It’s also impossible to fake time, which is what @PeercoinPPC used when it invented #ProofofStake in 2012. Peercoin has run perfectly using coinage as a mechanism to secure its blockchain. And it does it all without wasting vast amounts of electricity. @elonmusk, if you care about efficiency and sustainability, you should reach out to us to learn more.
The ROAST technology being worked on at Peercoin not only makes it possible to form massive multisignature groups and distributed oracles, it also enables use on foreign blockchains like Ethereum.
This article describes how a cross-chain bridge between Peercoin and Ethereum can be created using ROAST: https://t.co/mtRgK2DpCI #Peercoin #Cryptocurrency
Peercoin blockchain has (soft) forked at block #801331. SIGHASH_ANYPREVOUT (APO) is now activated. Please update to v0.15 if you did not already.
APO is a soft-fork that allows a transaction to be signed without reference to any specific previous output, such that any output with a matching signature can be dynamically added later.
Noosphere client, the Peercoin Foundation's implementation of ROAST (Robust Asynchronous Schnorr Threshold) signatures, is now open sourced under a permissive BSD-3 license. Flutter developers can now easily include this library in their apps: https://t.co/qg8xGmx4iw
Frosty is now public and open sourced under a very permissive BSD-3 licence.
This package makes FROST Taproot threshold signatures available to Dart/#Flutter apps and is used for the Noosphere ROAST implementation that makes it easy to coordinate and create these signatures (and will soon be integrated into the Peercoin Flutter wallet). We welcome all bug reports and pull requests.
Thanks to @ZcashFoundation for their hard work on FROST and splendid frost-secp256k1-tr cargo package!

63.2% of the last 1,000 blocks signal that they are ready for the v0.15 "APO" fork. This protocol update is about making DLCs nicer to use, ANYPREVOUT (APO) ensures that all outcomes of a DLC are in place before it is funded so all the parties of the DLC don't need to trust one another. Update today!
Around 12.8% remains before Peercoin can fork to v0.15. If you are waiting for a stable release before you upgrade, that is not necessary. v0.15 uses the same codebase as v0.14, which has been stable for a while now, so there is no need to wait.
Peercoin v0.15 has been released! APO soft fork activation will occur once 75% of the last 1,000 blocks are version 6. Details about feature updates can be sampled in the below photos, or at the official announcement: https://t.co/6vz2mnmwL7
@menofwestcast Hi! Peercoin is responsible for bringing proof-of-stake into the world, which has completely reshaped the crypto industry over the past 12.5 years. We’re now working on a revolutionary project to bring smart contracts to Satoshi style blockchains. Check here for a sneak peek:
