Abducted Blogger Vincent Kipsang: 24 Hours of Silence

More than 24 hours have passed since political blogger Vincent Kipsang was abducted from his shop in Kabarnet, and a disconcerting silence persists among Baringo's leaders, human rights activists, and residents.

There has been no official communication, nor have any demands been made for his release or information regarding his whereabouts. Kipsang was reportedly seized yesterday evening by unidentified individuals believed to be Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers.

His continued detention without being presented in court raises significant concerns about illegal confinement and a clear breach of constitutional rights, which mandate that suspects be arraigned within 24 hours.

Thus far, only his wife, Angela Chesang, has publicly appealed to authorities, pleading for her husband's safety and immediate release. She emphasized that Kipsang is the sole provider for their young family.

I'm just from DCI HQ,accompanied with Wakili @BigmanBiko where I was summoned to appear after my last week's release . I've been directed to present myself again on Monday 21st July 2025 to give them more time to complete their investigation. All is well.✊️
