I am pleased to announce that I will be entering the transfer portal as a December grad QB with 2 years of eligibility. I am eager for an opportunity to compete for a starting job - check out my highlights!
CO Mines prevailed in a 7 hour 39 minute game, which included 3 lightning delays, with a 41-27 victory over Washburn on Saturday (9/13/25) afternoon.
In the game that set the record for the longest ever played, QB Joseph Capra attempted to break the school record for longest rushing play. In the 1st quarter Capra, who some argue is the fastest player on the team, used his speed to take a QB draw in for an 85 yard touchdown, which was just 3 yards short of Jim Holley’s record setting rush of 88 yards in 1963.
The player I argued was the fastest on the team, Landon Walker, put his speed on display when he broke off an impressive 75 yard rushing TD in the 3rd.
Also impressive was the lengthy 56 yard FG that Mines’ Kicker Preston Kyle made at the end of the 1st half.
Finally, Mines’ Defense held Washburn to an impressively nominal 42 yards rushing!
Leading CO Mines to the win were:
🏈 Joseph Capra, 15 Cmps on 23 Atts for 207 Yds as well as 107 Rushing Yds & 3 TDs;
🏈 Landon Walker, 26 Carries for 199 Yds & 2 TDs;
🏈 Braelon Tate, 16 Carries for 60 Yds;
🏈 Christian Peluse, 5 Solo Tackles, including a Sack;
🏈 Dominic Caggiano, 4 Tackles (2 Solo & 2 Ast), including 1.5 TFLs; &
🏈 Will Adams, 4 Ast Tackles, including 1/2 a TFL.
I’m wondering if the rumor that Capra is the fastest player on the team is true or if I’m right believing it’s Walker. Would love to see those two running side by side in a 40 to settle it.
Here are a few of CO Mines’ highlights from Saturday’s win:

With Fort Lewis driving in the red zone, Christian Peluse gets a strip sack and Joey Beckner scoops and returns it to midfield. Our fifth turnover of the day.

I didn’t play freshman year, this season was cut short due to injury so I’m extremely blessed to say I’m 100% committed to Prairie View A&M University. I’d like to thank my family and the people that helped me along my way. @Coach_Lemke @PVAMU_Football @mooreathletics#committed

Truly the greatest of all time. John Matocha now stands alone in Division II history with 172 career touchdowns, eclipsing the mark previously held by Shepherd's Tyson Bagent.
