This week in Purple Class the children have been looking and learning about the life cycle of a frog. The children have been observing the tadpoles brought in and have been helping to care for them.

The children at the Over 3s loved celebrating Pancake Day by cooking pancakes on an open fire. They explored each of the ingredients, watching the mixture change when the ingredients were combined and heated over the flames. Delicious!

This week’s Wow Wednesday in Purple Class was Marvellous Mixtures. The children have really enjoyed watching the effects of mixing vinegar with bicarbonate soda and food colouring to create a mini volcano effect. This is a STEM activity (Science, technology, engineering, maths).
Its Maths Week. The under 3’s children have been exploring size, weight, quantity and to using mathematical language using lots of sensory activities.
The children really enjoyed exploring the shredded paper to fill and empty different sized containers.
This week has been Maths Week at Pembury. We have enjoyed lots of activities, including inventing our own maths games! Here we are scoring points when we get the beanbag into the tyres and recording our score.
