As you’re getting into yard work, something you might not think about is ants. These tiny creatures are drawn to the electrical currents inside ground transformers. While they’re small, they can cause big problems, including equipment damage and outages.
Here’s how you can help:
🐜 Do NOT open or lift the lid of any ground transformer.
🐜 Keep the area around transformers clear while doing yard work.
🐜 Lightly apply ant killer around the outside.
Here’s the truth: ceiling fans do not actually lower temperatures. They make you feel cooler by moving air across your skin and only help when you are in the room. Turning off fans when you leave is an easy way to save a little energy without losing comfort.

In May, we recognize National Electrical Safety Month to raise awareness about reducing electrically related fires, injuries and fatalities. Here are a few important safety tips to keep in mind:
🔌 Never use electrical equipment near water.
🔌 Check all light bulbs to ensure the wattage is safe and suitable for the fixture.
🔌 Extension cords are for temporary use only; never run them under rugs, through walls or across doorways.
🔌 Don’t plug too many devices into a single outlet or power strip.
