During today’s #Jansunwai, I had a valuable interaction with students of Hindu College and the Faculty of Law to discuss ways to further strengthen safety across North Campus.

Students shared several practical and innovative ideas on improving street lighting, strategic placement of PCR vans & CCTV cameras, and identifying a new location for a Pink Booth.

Their concerns, ideas and participation are invaluable. Together, we must resolve to make the areas around Delhi University safer and work towards ending crime against women.

Safe campuses. Safer streets. A safer Delhi.

🚔 दिल्ली पुलिस @DCPCentralDelhi ने बंदूक की नोंक पर की गई लूट का खुलासा करते हुए पांच आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया।

आरोपियों ने चांदनी चौक से नकदी की आवाजाही की रेकी कर, ऑटोरिक्शा से जा रहे डिलीवरी एजेंट से लूटे थे तकरीबन ₹1.5 करोड़ नकद।

थाना दरियागंज, स्पेशल स्टाफ एवं AATS की संयुक्त टीमों ने CCTV फुटेज व तकनीकी निगरानी के जरिए आरोपियों को दिल्ली, हरियाणा एवं पंजाब से ट्रेस कर गिरफ्तार किया।

करीब ₹1 करोड़ की लूटी गई नकदी, लूट की रकम से खरीदा गया मोबाइल फोन व मोटरसाइकिल एवं लूट के लिए इस्तेमाल पिस्टलनुमा लाइटर बरामद।

Hon’ble High Court of Delhi in the matter of “Conference for Human Rights v. Union of India” vide its judgement dated 18th August 2023 in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 12078 of 2018 has directed MCD, Delhi Govt. etc. to continue with efforts and drive for sterilization and immunization of stray dogs, as the same is an important public function and is required to be performed in all its earnestness.

Sterilisation and immunization of dogs is a regular exercise done through NGOs and Veterinary Doctors at designated Centres by the respective Municipal Corporations in Delhi.

Sick and furious dogs are transferred from places of crowding, in a safe manner without causing any injury to them to ensure safety of public.

During such period of sterilization or observation, proper arrangements for food and water for dogs are made. Moreover, there is arrangement of veterinary surgeons round the clock in these centres.

All such dogs are released back to the same place from where they were picked up, after sterilisation or observation period.

Making such public statements by misrepresentation of facts about such regular functions of Municipal Corporations for which Hon’ble High Court has also issued directions, and connecting them with international events, is unwarranted.

Srinagar, recorded a max. temperature of 15.0°C on Tuesday, which is the coldest June day since at least 1975.
The temp. remained 14.2°C below the normal.
A temperature of 15.0°C is very common in February for Srinagar.
