It’s a very common orchid species in traditional gardens in Colombia because of its inflorescence, it's full of tiny yellow flowers. This species is easy to confuse with other three species (C. diodon, C. porrigens and C. umbonatum) which are present in Colombia and Ecuador.
Cyrtochilum murinum is an orchid species that can be epiphyte o terrestrial, and can be found growing from 1700 to 2500 m.a.s.l. in Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador.
