FYI, in NYC bicyclists are legally treated as vehicle operators, not pedestrians, and must follow the same traffic laws as other vehicles.
New York Vehicle & Traffic Law § 1231 states:
“Every person riding a bicycle … upon a roadway shall be granted all of the rights and shall be subject to all of the duties applicable to the driver of a vehicle…”
I made Trump's takedown of podcasters he doesn't like into the opening credits of Star Wars... because it fit perfectly.
This is pretty incredible. 🤣🤣🤣
@ev_rat@nxthompson@JohnCarreyrou I wrote my search for Satoshi for Fast Company back in 2011 in reaction to the New Yorker feature that searched for Satoshi, which followed other attempts to find Satoshi… Someone should collect and post the entire collection.
I just threw away all of my kids Halloween candy.
At 5pm we left the house and they filled a full bag of candy in our neighborhood. 100+ pieces.
We go nuts and let them eat as much as they want. They did and both got belly aches.
Then when we get home we tell them it’s time to give their candy away to kids who didn’t get any.
They put it out on the porch.
As soon as they are in bed we throw it away and it’s over.
Good lesson for the kids and it keeps Halloween from becoming a 10 day event of unhealthy crap and possessiveness.
Between 2008 and 2020, U.S. newspaper newsroom employment fell 57%.
More than 200 counties are now "news deserts"—no local outlet at all. In another 1,500+ counties, only one remains.

Polish 26 year old guitar master Marcin Patrzałek respond to those who have made public comments claiming that his music is fake.
He made this video in a tutorial form showing how he manages to play so extraordinarily well in response. And yes, it's all played on one guitar.
@SceneSallard@SarahTheHaider Yes, but soon you’ll be able to create agents to do that reporting—come up with story ideas, interview sources, fact-check, write, publish, promote. Now multiply by a thousand. Suddenly one person can act as an entire newsroom. What happens to everyone else?
Love this guy
He’s a cab driver in NYC taking care of his mom
He started reviewing Michelin star and famous restaurants as a normie last year dining alone last year to show you can treat yourself to these spots. He also goes to family run spots.
What’s so cool is how many people on the streets of NYC and the restaurant workers started recognizing him
But now the famous chefs know him
And he still insists on paying. He says it’s the Turkish way
You could launch a full-up newspaper from the 300 people laid off by the Washington Post 3 hours ago.
Instantly.
Business. Sports. Metro. Ukraine. China. AI & tech.
They'd start writing this afternoon!
A 300-person newsroom would cost about $80 million a year (running a little lean).
Just saying.
I hear there are some billionaires out there looking for places to invest.
