A very cool day for democracy at Pennoweth yesterday, every child in the school cast their vote in our Crofty Trust Parliament Elections! A classroom was transformed into a polling station complete with voting booths, ballot boxes and tribal leaders ticking names off! #Democracy
Years 5 and 6 were very lucky to be able to handle some amazing creatures yesterday as part of our Darwin's Delights project! We were visited by a tarantula, giant cricket, skink, milk snake and barn owl called Emma! We were amazed at the adaptations that these animals had!

Today, seven of our year 6s were invited to a music jamboree at Treloweth School where they had the chance to participate in three, exciting singing workshops with some staff from Cornwall Youth Choir!

This week, the children have been learning about coral. Ms Marno brought in lots of different coral skeletons to investigate. We watched videos of coral reefs and the children have been fascinated at the different colours and shapes.They then decided to make their own coral reef!
What a day we have had at Pennoweth! We were so lucky to have @enrichedu come in and deliver a Quidditch day for years 1 - 6. It was such an amazing and different sport. Congratulations to #Hufflepuff house (aka Trebah tribe) for winning! #quidditch
We had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day last Thursday and Friday. We enjoyed a visit and workshop from a local author and illustrator as well as taking part in some fun, World Book Day activities, demonstrating our love for reading at Pennoweth! @illustratebyalex

On Friday, some our Year 3 and 4s competed in a 7-a-side Crofty Football Tournament. We're delighted to say that the children shared first place with Treloweth! We're so proud of them all and the great sportsmanship they showed throughout the day. Well done Team Pennoweth!

Years 1 to 4 loved their visit from @WestEndinSchool last week! They had a fantastic time learning a dance to celebrate Chinese New Year, based on the origin story of the Chinese Zodiac, The Great Race.
