We held our Y6 leavers assembly this morning.

Year 3 have now completed their art sculptures this week. After creating volcano structures from cardboard and mod roc, they have finished by painting them. Year 3 have said that they really enjoyed creating their volcanoes and they can't wait to do more work on sculptures.

Year 6 would like to say a big thank you to the Reflexions Mental Health Support Team. They came into school this week to deliver a workshop on transitioning to secondary school. Pupils said it was helpful to have strategies to use to help them prepare for their move to Year 7.

It is amazing how far Year 4 have progressed with their Spanish this year. They have recently listened to the story of Goldilocks and the 3 bears in Spanish, practised new vocabulary and then retold the story on a storyboard. Very impressive Year 4!

Y6 had a lovely day at Sandwell Valley as part of their end of year rewards. They played rounders and football during their visit and they played board games and did some mindful colouring whilst sitting amongst nature. The children also enjoyed a picnic in the lovely weather.

Year 3 have been studying the book, The Tunnel by Anthony Browne. They are preparing to write a setting description about the wasteland, making sure they have included expanded noun phrases and similes for effect.

During their maths lessons, Year 4 have been learning about coordinates and using this to describe positions on a grid. They have used their knowledge to solve reasoning questions as you can see in their work.....

In science lessons, Year 5 have been learning about air resistance. This week they have investigated the question: How does the size of a parachute affect the time it takes to fall down? Here are their predictions, resources lists, methods, results and conclusions.

What a fantastic trip Year 3 have had at The New Art Gallery, Walsall. The children have enjoyed working with an artist to make clay heads as well as plasticine animals inspired by the animal sculptures in the art collections there. 1/2

Year 1 did so well completing their phonics screening check. They have worked so hard all year and we are incredibly proud of them all.

Year 3 have been studying rocks during science lessons. They have identified igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. They are also now able to state which types of rocks are man made or natural as well as some of the things they are used for in everyday life.

Refugee is the text that Y4 have been studying in their reading lessons. Their first lesson focused on vocabulary. The children worked out how to find the meaning of unknown words and created a Vocabulary Vault to store their vocabulary in so they can revisit it frequently.

Year 5 have been learning about The Tudors during their history lessons. This week, they have found out about the Spanish Armada and made storyboards to convey the events.
