@MichaelRosenYes I recently learned that oak trees can live 900 years. Roughly, the first 300 are growing, the 2nd 300 is fullness, the final 300 collapsing and decaying. Final stage is really important, the trees most biodiverse stage. I've tried and failed to find a metaphor for humans in this!
