Officers had arrested a male for theft of a bicycle yesterday on Garratt lane and the stolen bike had been returned to a very delighted owner. What sped up our investigation and facilitated the return of the bike was because victim had previously reported it with its frame number

There's a strong and natural synergy between trains and cycles: a train for the long haul, with short cycle legs at either end to link your whole trip together.
And yet here in the UK, sadly, we don't seem to have twigged this yet.
Remember, Paris wasn’t “always this way.”
It wasn’t even this way in late 2019 when I was there last.
Just a few years ago, Paris was choking in car traffic.
This is new. This is leadership.
Cities are a result of choices.

I don't just want a low traffic street, I want trees, shade, and flowers, I want benches where I can sit with my neighbours, I want to hear the birds singing in the morning, see bees pollinating in the summer, I want respite from the constant drone of motor vehicles.
More evidence: "Simply put, Active Neighbourhoods are places where people are prioritised over cars. They’re safe spaces where people can chat and kids can play out – and it’s also easier to get around on foot or by bike." https://t.co/G6NuOj8vbv
If walking costs you $1, we all pay $0.01. If biking costs you $1, we all pay $0.08. If bussing costs you $1, we all pay $1.50. If driving costs you $1, we all pay $9.20. Via @thediscourse study.
This isn’t just about choice. It’s about who pays for your choice.

@righttobikeit I really feel guilty watching your uploads. I truly fear you're going to become a martyr to road safety/traffic violence before anyone heeds to your valid complaints.
Would it be acceptable if you were a child? Or female? Or less confident on your bike?
Why do you deserve it?
Was in Soho yesterday afternoon - fantastic to see it so buzzing. But packed pavements pushing people on to roads full of traffic is just awful. Why are we so casual about a jewel like Soho? Close the roads - very least at weekends, with a window for deliveries early mornings.

Only by challenging the perceived right to drive and store an automobile in front of every building, do cities create opportunities for the ‘indoor generation’ to get outside and move, meet, and play.

How #ISA works. @SturdyAuto digital map & GPS tracks speed limit & vehicle speed. Approaching 30mph zone shows speed at 32mph. Detects excessive speed & slows vehicle enabling driver to proceed below limit at 27mph. Safer driving couldn’t be easier or more relaxed. Saves fuel too
Telling people they'll get fat doesn't work.
Paint doesn't work.
Making cycling enjoyable and safe through co-located *fully-segregated cycle lanes* and attractive/shady street trees works.
