U.S. intelligence assessments found no evidence that any foreign actor altered votes or election infrastructure in the 2020 election.

They did conclude Russia conducted influence operations to undermine Biden, boost Trump, and erode confidence in the election, but vote counts were unaffected.

The assessment was based on an investigation conducted during Trump's presidency, overseen by his own appointees. Trump received a classified preliminary version of this same report before leaving office.

Hearing about how the Ukrainian military works is just mindblowing. It has mobilized the state to develop the most modern military on the planet, with insane productive capacity.

Clearly there's a political economic story that has yet to be told. Most "poor" countries aren't able to do that.

My best guess is Ukraine wasn't actually poor in a traditional sense, its economy was just severely misallocated due to oligarchy (especially human capital, which is a major driver of the Ukrainian AI-based military).

And then in 2014 and 2022, for the elite oligarchs the loss of support from Putin and the general change of terms in wartime led to a rapid and incredibly efficient reallocation.

There was also a weird human capital makeup that allowed for leapfrogging, I imagine. Ukraine had both old Soviet production infrastructure and had become an outsourced IT hub. These sort of fused together and a sense of emergency allowed for them to leapfrog into a new military model.
