People who had never met before, united on their deep dissatisfaction with local government and a desire to do something about it: the story of @PeoplePowerBrum is a universal story of citizens against corruption, with liquid democracy in a central role. https://t.co/rQXCRnzj3H
I wrote about @PeoplePowerBrum & our attempt to build a new politics for Birmingham. Thanks to @AlterUK21 for putting this out to all the democracy innovators out there ✊ https://t.co/fT9SCOCMeM
Come to our New Democracy Workshop where we will be telling our story to date and summarising our thoughts on what comes next. And we want YOUR input on how we can continue to build a better democracy for Birmingham 🙏
Mon 11th June, @ImpactHubBrum, 6:30pm
We will be sure to share the outcome of our debrief and any ideas we have for driving this movement forward.
And we are always open to new contributions - of any shape or size! If you have questions or would like to get involved please reach out to us 👋

The People Power Brum team will be gathering on Saturday for some bonding time and an election campaign debrief. Whilst recent efforts have been focused on the local election it's important to note that this marks the beginning of our journey, not the end ✊
"I felt like the vanguard today and it may be my children or your children who reap the benefits of our actions, but if you support the People Power Brum pledge and believe in a new form of democracy then please keep supporting it and spread the word!" - Gino 4/4
The results are in! Gino didn't get elected this time but we're quite happy with the results and how far we've come as a collective. Some words from Gino:
"Thanks to all the People Power Brum volunteers over the last few weeks in support of my campaign in North Edgbaston." 1/4
"It was always going to be a challenge to overturn what everyone would regard as a safe Labour ward with the radical approach of being an independent advocating for liquid democracy, but we have started the ball rolling and the only way is up!" 3/4
It's just 2 days until the Birmingham local elections! 🗳️
If you have any questions about the election day, our candidate Gino Bellavia, People Power Brum, liquid democracy or local politics in general we'd be happy to answer them! 👋
