She also doesn't need an electorate - she was already high enough on the Labour list to pretty much guarantee a list seat.

@ButFactsEh @LouieTheRed1 @PumaharaC @nikkikaye She lost by less than 1000 votes in 2011 and 2014. That's an extremely close election, especially considering the gap was a little wider in 2008 at 1497 and in 2017 at 1581 when she wasn't a candidate.

@ButFactsEh @PumaharaC She was elected to Parliament in 2008 as a list MP, and ran for Mt Albert in 2017 after David Shearer resigned. She also became PM in 2017.

That doesn't sound like being "handed a cosy electorate seat".

Grounded Kiwis also conveniently not mentioning that the Court noted the Government was constantly considering different ideas and approaches and constantly taking advice.

It's literally in the court document.

Funny that the Court noted that alternatives to MIQ wouldn't have worked, nor did the court find any issue with the requirement to enter MIQ.

The issue was solely with the way in which allocations occurred - but it's not clear that alternatives would have been any better.

If you read the articles about this, it was a decision made by Parliamentary Security. Government wasn't involved at all.
