I highly recommend that this be read as widely as possible. It responds to an earlier essay in the same website by @NiallReddy, which dismisses the conference largely because of the presence of a few political parties amongst the 60+ organisations in attendance (https://t.co/WAKHA2PvZ9).
Mr. Reddy, whom I do not know but whose father (Govin Reddy) I had met several times when he came to India, weirdly calls me an 'agent' in his article - a mothballed Cold War word whose return is sinister (particularly given the false accusations by the New York Times - which Reddy hyperlinks - that accuse me of ties to the Communist Party of China, which has come at a personal cost).
