For @BioDesignCenter at @BU_Tweets fall symposium, we'll do lab Family Feud. We've created a survey. Please circulate as widely as possible among bio researchers. Can have non-bio folks, but it will throw off responses to things like "Name a temperature" https://t.co/wEPRVQBcMS
@evornithology@eLife I actually read the reviews in eLife pretty often, especially if it's a paper from a field I don't know. Sometimes they tell you more about the significance of the paper than the paper itself, but that largely reflects problems with how papers are written.
Please submit abstracts for the Bacterial Communities Focus Session 04.01.21 at APS March Meeting 2023 in Vegas by 5pm EST Oct 20! We welcome abstracts addressing experimental and theoretical insights into the collective behaviors of bacterial biofilms across all scales #apsmarch
@weinberz 4 years in SD owned car but commuted via bus. Doable, but severely restricts where you can live. Have to spring for rideshare often when buses are infrequent. For USCD, I think it's much better now that they extended the trolley to UTC. No car at all would be miserable I think.
@chicaScientific I was told Stirling are really good so I shelled out some extra money for one. In 2.5 years, we've had two problems, one of which required shipping it out of state for repair. People tell me PHC is the only remaining good brand.
@toettch I find that part to be very tough early on--that there's often little to no data. Much of what I wrote for the first couple years felt kind of made up?
@CterminiPhD "So we did the experiment, and we did observe that" / click to graph with 6 different conditions, vague axis labels, no further explanation. So frustrating.
I don't care for the look of this building, but it's useful for knowing where Union Sq, Somerville is from a distance and, I must admit, I am often shocked at where it is when I see it!
@yogeshgoyallab Undergrads nationally are welcome, but we are only hosting the Northeast site. There is a different location for each region of the country. Here is the national website: https://t.co/Uhzgk0FUQ8
