Periodic reminder that virtually every major elected official claims, or tries to claim, that they are an outsider, a rebel, a maverick taking on “the establishment.” The President, Vice President, and speaker of the House talk that way. So did Barack Obama. Ted Cruz. Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, AOC, Jim Jordan do it, when their party is in power and out. When they are committee chairs or ranking members etc. Even partisan media does it. Everyone wants to be “the resistance” to some nebulous establishment no one claims membership in.

You can’t run a stable, serious, government when the people in power refuse to accept responsibility for being in power. None of them are “outsiders” taking on “elites.” They are all insiders and elites blaming other elites for their collective failure to do their jobs.

How have we arrived at this moment where the U.S. and its closest allies are threatening and actually deploying their militaries against one another while steadfastly refusing to do so against the war criminal Putin, as he bombs the innocent civilians of a sovereign nation? Next, I suppose one of us will have to threaten to nuke the other in order to settle things down.

In summary: We don’t care enough about Ukraine and its people to defend it (America First!), but we’re so determined to OWN Greenland - even though they would let us use it for security purposes in any way we want - that our allies feel the need to prepare military defenses against OUR threatened invasion of Denmark. DENMARK!

It’s mind-bottling. Even if you concede that we “need” Greenland for security, that neither justifies taking it nor accounts for the fact that Denmark will gladly support those needs if we only ask. The blatant way they treat us like idiots tells us all we need to know about their true integrity.
