Over the weekend I attended MXLAN 2023, it was a fantastic weekend filled with music, arts, and cultural events that celebrated young Latino culture.

Our friends from Texas DSHS have some tips to keep our children safe during the summer:
1. Never leave your child unattended in or near the pool or any body of water.
2. Teach kids how to swim.
3. Do not run near the pool.
4. Wear a life jacket.

I had the opportunity to attend a Prosperity Task Force meeting, hosted by South Texas College and the Hidalgo County.
This Task force was initially created in 2020 by Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez, to help fight poverty in the region.
