Self-defense isn't a legal obligation to stand there and hope the other person stops. The law focuses on perceived imminent danger, not whether someone waited until after they were injured.

@feelsdesperate My POW dad had chronic pain, deformities, PTSD, rated as 48% VA disability, and went to work everyday at GSA for 40 yrs engineering public spaces. Not once complaining. Same as Vets at all levels of benefits.
