Can you use ChatGPT to help make ChatGPT more accessible? We asked the tool that very question, and wrote about what happened. Read the full article: https://t.co/AoU3J6YZ9r #a11y#ChatGPT#accessibility
@LetsEnvision By the way, I really like the Envision story and @_karthik's definition of success: when at some point you have to mute the Slack channel where the Envision team collects all the positive feedback from all over the world because it just gets too much. 👍🤗
@LetsEnvision@airaio No, I didn't know this documentary. But the part about Envision was way too short. :-)I'm more into assistive tech like your glasses than bionic eyes or things like that.
I'm working with an organisation who wants to offer professional remote assistance for different user groups in German-speaking countries and wonder what happened to @airaio's expansion plans. Are there perhaps already efforts to establish Aira in Europe? #VisualInterpreting
@tamaccess@redcrew@WPAccessibility Yes, thats unfortunately true. Since @wordpressdotcom is using blocks for some time now also for many customization options of the theme/site, e.g. widgets, I can't change much there anymore. I'm glad that I can at least still edit my contents. *irony off*
@gonz_blinko In this context, this thread could perhaps also be interesting. More on my blog "You are blind" in German language. https://t.co/fOfTDgkhGG

Why the sighted fear darkness... and blind people 😨🙈
This thread with 12 tweets and 6 links tries to explain that. I am looking for further opinions, links and research results. Other keywords: evolution, childhood, Conditioning, trigger, prejudices, stigma, avoidance. 12/12
"The @documenta__ fifteen is to be designed sustainably and inclusively.
Everyone should be able to participate equally in this major social event.
This means an inclusive concept that implements #accessibility throughout and in all areas."👍😊

Who among you blind screen reader users is also bothered by Microsoft's Windows reserving more and more keyboard shortcuts for itself? I would like to customize system-wide hot keys to make better use of software like TW Blue or Chicken Nugget, for example. @MSFTEnable
I can tell you that in Windows 11, you can say bye bye to TW Blue working with alt+windows. It'll have to be alt+CTRL+Windows if you want those keys to not conflict with newly introduced Windows 11 commands. Get ready for all your blindy Twitter clients to break.
What do Apple, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Samsung, Mozilla, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, WhatsApp, Skype, Zoom, Webex, Dropbox, etc. have in common?
They all strive for more #accessibility. In short #a11y. Information on this can often be found on their .com/accessibility page.
Dear @MarcoInEnglish. Thank you for contributing to ClassicPress, helping to keep an accessible version of the increasingly less accessible CMS WordPress alive! Thanks also to the developer community of @GetClassicPress! https://t.co/lYySlvMzE9 #accessibility#a11y
Hey @OpenAtMicrosoft, if Microsoft does acquire Nuance, could you open-source the ETI-Eloquence text-to-speech engine that Nuance owns? It has some loyal fans in the blind community, despite being a dead code base, e.g. no 64-bit Android port. Would be good PR. cc @MSFTEnable
It would be good if @Microsoft doesn’t run #voice input/output to the ground. A good start would be if they do some active development on my favourite #TTS “ETI Eloquence”. #a11y
For sighted people, Eloquence may sound bad, but for many blind not. For us it is like a very good "audio screen". Even if it's set very fast, it's still very good to understand. I'm used to reading both German and English text with this text-to-speech engine. Please, @MSFTEnable
I just saw that Microsoft is buying Nuance Communications. @MSFTEnable , I know the ink isn't even dry on this yet, but if Eloquence were to wind up being a Windows voice, I know I sure wouldn't be sad.
@redcrew@wordpressdotcom @MarcoInEnglish @ChrisWiegman Thanks again. I was able to change the new setting on my profile page. Would not have expected the solution there. After that everything was OK again. Before that most of the dashboard pages were inaccessible, many/most controls were invisible to Jaws. I was locked out. Scary.
For all blind screen reader users who have problems with @wordpressdotcom's new dashboard user interface, for example customizing themes, change settings, editing content, here is the solution. Thank you @MarcoInEnglish and @redcrew!
