Babyn Yar.
85 years since the tragedy.
One of the largest Nazi mass-murder sites in Europe. A place of profound pain and of our remembrance of all victims of the Holocaust. On September 29–30, 1941 alone, nearly 34,000 Jews were murdered here. At Babyn Yar, the Nazis also killed Roma, Ukrainian nationalists, members of the underground resistance, prisoners of war and patients of a psychiatric hospital. In total, an estimated 100,000 innocent people were killed here during the occupation.
This tragedy reminds us how important it is to stand up to evil and to regimes that place no value on human life. It reminds us why we must never turn a blind eye to terror and atrocities, and why we must always support the true defenders of life.
Today, I honored the memory of those killed in the Nazi mass shootings. Eternal memory to all the innocent victims.
JB Pritzker: “We are all being lied to every single day. We’re under siege right now. Not by immigrants, not by protesters, not by the deep state, not by Canada or Mexico or Greenland, not by Antifa or communists or Jewish space lasers or pride parades, not by Politico or MS NOW or CNN. We are under siege by a petty corrupt narcissist in Washington who ran for president because he wanted to rig the system to enrich himself”
BREAKING: JACK SMITH UNDER OATH: “Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in serious crimes against our nation.”
💥Andy Burnham confirms my scoop this morning that he will push ahead with plans for electoral reform - kicking off a process that could eventually lead to ditching the first-past-the-post system in favour of proportional representation.
The PM, a long standing supporter of electoral reform, says he wants a system in which “everyone’s views count and everyone’s vote matters”.

I sincerely apologize.
I misread the term "Muselmann" (Muslim) used in Nazi camps for prisoners at the brink of death, wrongly inferring that the term antisemitism originally meant hatred of all Semitic peoples. In fact it was coined specifically to denote hatred of Jews.
“We hear you.” UK Foreign Secretary @Ed_Miliband, speaking at UK Labour party conference this morning.
Thank you to the millions of people in Britain and around the world who stood firmly on the side of justice, on the side of Palestine 🇵🇸✊🏽
"Netanyahu didn't want the hostages. It wasn't good for him that they come back and tell what really happened." Yocheved Lifshitz, who was a hostage in Gaza explains that Israel never cared about the hostages and was happy to see them all die.
🔥 Sikorski brought the heat at the UN Security Council: “Sergey, tell your boss: enough is enough”
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski addressed the Russian delegation directly, pointing to the gap in economic power between Russia, Poland, Europe and NATO.
“You have been trying to conquer Donbas for over 12 years and Kyiv for over four. You have been stopped by heroic Ukraine — a country whose GDP is one-tenth of Russia’s.
But Poland’s GDP is almost half of yours. Europe’s is 10 times bigger. NATO’s is 25 times bigger.
You can still kill a lot of people, but you cannot win. You can stop this imperial war of choice at any time. Don’t endanger Europe and the world any further. Stop destroying Russia’s future.”
I’ve seen NAZA. It is not about Gaza or even about IDF rules of engagement. It is 100% a film about Israeli society. It is about how the most liberal, educated and enlightened socioeconomic elites among us could carry out such mass killing, some even while being well aware of it.
“Dangerous, unhinged”: In an interview with Haaretz ahead of the New York premiere of NAZA, director Yuval Abraham reacted for the first time to Benjamin Netanyahu likening the documentary – which reveals the intelligence system behind the killing of thousands of Gazans – to firing “dozens of ballistic missiles at Israel.”
Abraham said “it’s clear what he’s trying to say, but it won’t silence the film or the Israeli officers and soldiers talking in the film.” | Full interview with Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor will be on https://t.co/z25w4X2WcI on Sunday | @Etanetan23
Students in Serbia are cycling from one city to another ahead of the October elections, fighting for democracy. This is how people are welcoming them along the way.
When students stand up for freedom, an entire nation can hear their voice.
NAZA, filme en donde soldados del IOF admiten sus atrocidades durante el genocidio en Gaza, estará disponible gratis en streaming en noviembre a través de The Guardian.
World leaders keep asking me: What the hell is going on in America?
I’m telling them Trump is trying to tear down our democracy — but the American people WON’T let him!
