In the mystical realms of Hilumia, in the very heart of Bobu’s private garden, a subtle shift began beneath the rich and fragrant earth. A seed, hidden, destined to become something extraordinary, lay in a gentle slumber.
FvF with our newly promoted Sentinel from the Fire Realm, Fyndrel of the Ember Leaf... too bad newly promoted officers to the corp get stuck on patrol duty 😠
based on my own kabuki fire elemental #3024 (edit by me)
Stay tuned for the exciting introduction of Fyndrel's story!
The card game is an ideal medium to fuel a story driven narrative.
Each set of cards can introduce unique characters whose arcs unfold in two ways:
•Within the game itself: through individual card lore and in game storytelling (rivalries between factions or love stories between characters)
•Beyond the cards themselves: through animation and side content connected to the cards IP (a trajectory similar to Arcane in reverse), as well as expansion set releases where the path of the sets builds into a larger multi-decade story arcs (much like the card IP that must not be named and its expansions) or like mmorpg games like World of Warcraft and its library of expansions and connected content).
The Azuki IP’s storytelling already spans multiple forms:
•Short form: Characters like Beanz and Mizuki who carry their own story arcs.
•Medium form: The Enter the Garden anthology explores new narratives through unique storytelling identity.
•Long form: The larger narrative, currently in development with Mark Goffman, will introduce its own cast of characters and arcs that will spawn countless new forms of IP through collectibles, toys, games and everything else that comes with it (plushies, keychains, stickers, lunchboxes).
The heart of any successful IP strategy should be proliferation across every medium… games, animation, music, and anything beyond.
Personally, I might not play the card game (I’ll consider open my boxes when my kids are old enough to appreciate them). But as a collector and lover of a good story, I’ll be consuming every piece of lore and connected content that the TCG inspires.
Besides the art inevitably being really cool, collecting cards is just fun.
Waking up on FvF in Hilumia with Genjiro and Kamiko
“She walks the wild places of the world, chasing relics lost to time.
He treads the lonely road, hoping to cast off the weight of his broken past.
Though they seek the solace of separate paths, fate ever draws them back into step together.”
