Devonta Lee, a former LSU wide receiver, has passed away at 27 after battling osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. He was part of the 2019 national championship team and later played for Louisiana Tech. Lee's journey was marked by determination and resilience, inspiring many with his courageous fight against cancer.
Diagnosed with osteosarcoma a rare bone cancer in 2022 while at Louisiana Tech, Lee courageously underwent chemotherapy and surgery, declaring himself cancer-free in 2023 and returning to the field for the 2024 season, embodying his mother's words that he was "a fighter" who "loved everybody" and "gave his all in anything he did," until the disease's relapse led to his passing at age 27.
