The 81st Session of the UNGA presents Zimbabwe with an important opportunity to strengthen international partnerships and advance its development priorities. Zimbabwe's engagement will further support efforts to mobilize resources for critical infrastructure, climate adaptation and resilience, sustainable development and debt-related solutions. Participation in high-level multilateral dialogue will also create opportunities to deepen cooperation with development partners and reinforce Zimbabwe's contribution to the global effort to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.

Today, I had the honor of meeting with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in New York during the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly.

In our wide-ranging discussions on multilateralism, climate justice, water security, and global system reform, our message was clear: we come not merely as individual nations, but as one unified voice for Africa.

For too long, the international system has remained deeply unequal. True global peace and sustainable development cannot be achieved until the international financial architecture and global governance systems are structurally reformed to support developing nations fairly.

From advocating for robust climate adaptation financing to advancing water diplomacy for water-scarce nations, Africa stands ready to lead. We also firmly reaffirm that lasting stability requires the inclusion of women in global peace processes and the urgent resolution of ongoing international conflicts.

Thank you, Secretary-General Guterres, for recognizing Zimbabwe’s principled voice.

Together, as a united continent, we will continue to champion the development, equity, and future that Africa deserves.

NDS2 🇿🇼 DANGOTE SEES NEW INVESTMENT CONFIDENCE IN ZIMBABWE

After meeting President Emmerson Mnangagwa, African business leader Aliko Dangote says significant changes in Zimbabwe have renewed his confidence in investing in the country.

🗣️ “His Excellency has passed that exam, that’s why we’re here,” Dangote said, reflecting on his 2015 visit, when planned investments were abandoned.

Now, his delegation is exploring opportunities in:

⛽ Petroleum pipeline infrastructure
⚡ Coal power
🏗️ Cement production
⛏️ Mining concessions

Discussions also covered tax incentives, permits and security for proposed projects.

If realised, these investments could translate into jobs, contracts for local businesses, construction activity, transport opportunities, increased energy capacity and stronger industrial production.

Each of these institutions carries a profound mandate to serve the people of Zimbabwe

~ Zimbabwe Gender Commission (ZGC) – to promote true gender equality and equity.
~Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission (ZHRC) – to protect, promote, and enforce human rights.
~Zimbabwe Land Commission (ZLC) – to ensure accountability, fairness, and transparency in land administration.
~Zimbabwe Media Commission (ZMC) – to safeguard media freedom and uphold professional journalism standards.
~Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) – to manage and oversee free, fair, and credible electoral processes.

As your President and Chancellor, I am immensely proud to preside over the 32nd Graduation Ceremony of the National University of Science and Technology (NUST).

Today, we celebrate the remarkable academic achievements of 2,570 graduands—comprising 1,363 males and 1,208 females—who have earned their diplomas, degrees, and higher distinctions.Among these exceptional minds, we are physically capping 221 graduands, including five distinguished Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) holders who will lead our nation's research frontiers.

We also warmly congratulate our 19 international graduands from Botswana, Eswatini, Mauritius, the DRC, and Zambia, alongside three resilient graduands living with disabilities who have proven that determination knows no bounds.

As we celebrate, we also pause to honour the memory of three graduands being awarded posthumously, whose legacies remain part of the NUST family.This graduating class represents the driving force behind Zimbabwe’s modernization and industrialization strategy. Through innovative skills development and higher education excellence, these young leaders are fully equipped to build our nation and impact the global stage.
