Today, many were shocked by yet another video of the drone “safari” Russians are carrying out against civilians in Kherson. A Russian drone deliberately hunted down a man selling vegetables and detonated right next to him. The Russians even admitted to the crime, showing zero regret and openly boasting about tormenting people. The man was wounded in the blast. Every single day, ordinary people in Kherson face these Russian "safaris."
The world must see this. It must see every piece of evidence that Russia has gone mad and that its soldiers take pleasure in killing and abusing civilians. Without pressure on Russia, the dismantling of its capacity for aggression, and real security guarantees, it is simply impossible to imagine the world being able to coexist with this evil. We must remain resolute in defending life. We must act and support life in ways that force Russia to seriously think about peace rather than expanding the range of its drones.
This is not just about Ukraine. Russia’s campaign against human life must be stopped here in Ukraine before it spreads further. Finland and Kazakhstan, the Baltic states and Poland, the countries of the South Caucasus, Romania, and Moldova—all should work together to ensure real security guarantees and bring Russia’s war to an end. Peace is needed, which requires cooperation among everyone in the world who truly values peace. Thank you to everyone standing with Ukraine!
@RobertM82677542@CastanetNews Banning tobacco sales may eliminate smoking but is taking the "toys" away the way to solve every issue? Education may take longer to solve a problem but, in the long run, is the more permanent solution. Eventually, the tobacco companies will run out of customers.
@CTVVancouver Pregnant people?? In my 72 years on this earth, I've never met a pregnant man; 100% of the pregnant "people" are women. And, oh my gosh, what did pregnant women do before seat belts existed?
@CTVNews 1. WORKERS experiencing menopause??? Women, you mean?
2. EXPERIENCING menopause?? Every single woman on the face of the earth goes through menopause. This question makes it sounds like there's a choice.
@nenshi One should never have to apologize for speaking with another person. When you're in the public eye, you interact with a lot of people. Does his nationality truly matter? Those who are "hurt" by civility are the ones who should be shamed.
@renabaddie_ 3. If 3 backs up, 2 and 1 can proceed forward, leaving the way clear for 4 and 5 to proceed. Once 4 and 5 are out of the way, 6 and 7 can move forward.
A small public service announcement from the Department of Things That You Should Know…
It has not “peeked” your interest.
Nor has it “peaked” your interest.
…It has piqued your interest.
You are not “phased” by something.
You are fazed by it.
If you’ve had a long day, you are weary.
If you suspect someone is an idiot, you are wary.
It is “due course”, not “do course”.
“Per se”, not “per say”.
And while we’re here, it’s “could have”, not “could of”, but that particular battle may already be lost.
Thank you for your attention during this brief outbreak of grammatical housekeeping.
This has been a @LairdofthManor announcement.🎩💙
5 Social boundary rules I wish I’d learned sooner…
1. The Three-Second Pause…
When someone asks you for a favour you have absolutely no desire to do, don’t answer immediately. Pause for three seconds.
It gives the impression you’re carefully considering the request rather than searching for the politest way to say, “Good Lord, no.”
2. The No-Excuse Rule…
If you’re declining an invitation, resist the urge to provide a detailed explanation.
“I can’t make it, but thank you for thinking of me” is perfectly sufficient.
The more details you provide, the more opportunities people have to turn your refusal into a group problem-solving exercise.
3. The Mirror Method…
When someone pushes a boundary, calmly repeat back what they’re actually asking.
“Just so I understand correctly, you’d like me to put my priorities aside to accommodate yours?”
It’s remarkable how often people hear themselves properly for the first time.
4. The Physical Exit Strategy…
If someone is monopolising your time, start moving before you start explaining.
Stand up. Gather your things. Angle yourself towards the door.
Most people understand body language far better than they understand hints.
5. The Complete Sentence…
“No” is a complete sentence.
Not a rough draft.
Not an opening bid.
Not the beginning of a negotiation.
Just a sentence.
A surprisingly useful one, as it happens.🎩💙
Following a noticeable decline in standards, the ‘Department of Things That You Should Know’ has reluctantly issued this advisory…
You “bear with” someone.
You do not “bare with” them.
Unless you’re planning to remove your clothes together, which is an entirely different arrangement.
The contraction of the word ‘et cetera’ is “etc.”
Not “ect.”
That isn’t an abbreviation.
It’s simply incorrect.
A “woman” is singular.
“Women” is plural.
There really isn’t much room for negotiation on the matter.
And no…
There is no apostrophe in “CDs”, “DVDs” or the 1990s.
The apostrophe has suffered enough without being dragged into perfectly innocent plurals.
Thank you for maintaining even the faintest semblance of civilisation.

I’ve reached the entirely unscientific conclusion that one should eat the pudding.
After all…
The inventor of the treadmill died at 54.
The inventor of gymnastics died at 57.
A world bodybuilding champion died at 41.
Even Maradona only made it to 60.
Meanwhile…
The chap behind KFC reached 94.
The fellow responsible for Nutella lived to 88.
The Hennessy patriarch seems to have done rather well for himself… at 98.
Which does make one wonder how we arrived at the conclusion that endless jogging is the secret to immortality.
Consider the rabbit… permanently sprinting, leaping and generally behaving as though it’s late for an appointment… two years.
The tortoise? Barely moves unless absolutely necessary… two centuries, give or take.
I shan’t be cancelling my walks, but neither shall I be declining dessert out of a misplaced sense of athletic virtue.
Everything in moderation…
Especially moderation.
@Susan2874753765@CTVNews I, and even my parents, have been using Thermos jugs forever; with any hot liquid, pressure builds. You open them carefully and nothing untoward happens. If you open it too quickly, sure, I get it. Is this a case of the government stepping (again) in to protect stupid people?
