Ezra Klein is a serious threat to a world of true equality and justice because he is so effective at masking his service to the ruling class through (often faux) intellectual cooptation of progressive people who otherwise would support much more profound social change.
Hasan on the Platner win: "There will be a lot of naysayers that will continue to launch attacks against Platner because they would rather a Bernie-crat lose to prove their priors & allow a Republican majority to take shape than to allow a Bernie-crat to win." - @hasanthehun
I don't think any DC reporter in recent memory has been this focused on validating whisper campaigns against a single Democratic leader.
One could argue he's just trying to break news (i.e. his job), but his frustration & dissatisfaction w/ their responses is palpable.
Every election we have to pretend like Republican voters are seriously considering a completely insane Black candidate. Herman Cain. David Clarke. Herschel Walker. Mark Robinson. Now Candace Owens. The bit gets old.
I want someone to point to someone using “heterodox” about politics that isn’t connected to the Majority Dems / Searchlight / Elect The Bench industrial complex.
And not someone using it to make fun of that networks employees use of the word
Just one (1!) organic use.
We’re looking for a reporter to cover stories about local students, educators and school trends across the D.C. region for @postlocal. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, but those received by May 15 will be prioritized. https://t.co/ydt515DbQL
Truly amazing that we are still doing this in May. This isn’t rocket science. She didn’t want the job, perhaps because she didn’t want to do it, perhaps because she wants to explore going after the other one again. There’s your one-tweet summary, and I even have characters left.
"The real swing voters in Maine are not white working class men, but educated middle-age and older women who might be registered Democrats or independents but voted for Collins in the past because they find her reasonable," says @aseitzwald. https://t.co/PUkseygVnR
"The question for Platner: Does his aggressive maleness, his macho-ness, the anger, does that push some women into Collins' camp? And are there enough men, progressives, or women who feel differently to make up for it on the other end?" says @aseitzwald. https://t.co/PUkseygVnR
"How to Sell a Genocide" is a fantastic/appalling book about the post-Oct. 7 propaganda explosion. You better go to one of these events or you're in trouble with me: https://t.co/3Jbg9JLs6A
The primary contribution of How to Sell a Genocide is systematic documentation of the complicity of the liberal media. But an important secondary contribution of @adamjohnsonCHI’s work is painting character portraits of the spin doctors.
@aarondmiller2 was the main promoter of the “Helpless Biden” articles. @BarakRavid peddled 26 “Fuming/Deeply Concerned Biden” articles.
These two discourses were designed to cover up the obvious fact that Genocide Joe could’ve shut it down anytime he wanted to simply by threatening to terminate the flow of weapons to Israel.
"When you ask Americans why government isn't working, they will tell you the biggest impediment is the government is working for the wealthy and corporations. Most Americans don't think it's just red tape and bureaucratic inefficiency," says @owenslindsay1.
"Abundance" was the big idea in Democratic/liberal circles a year ago. @owenslindsay1 of @Groundwork explains why that's not as much the case a year later.
