(PI: Jamie Perry, PhD) Research lab of @ecu_csdi that uses imaging technology & advanced 3D computer technology to improve understanding craniofacial anatomy.
What a phenomenal 2023 #ACPA Conference. It was great seeing new and old colleagues, presenting all our newest work, and hearing about the great work being done in the field.
Already can't wait until next year.

Lab member Megan Bowling served as our most recent test subject when setting up a new MRI site in Greenville, NC. Live locally and know a 5-8 year old? Let us know; we are paying $100 per scan session!
Congratulations to Taylor Snodgrass for receiving the David P. Kuehn Speech Scholarship! This is designed to help students in CSDI programs participate in ACPA’s Annual Meeting. It provides a one-year ACPA Student membership, as well as $1,500 for related expenses.
Some of our lab members administered the first practicum in the anatomy class last week! This class is for undergraduate speech and hearing sciences majors. The instructor is Imani Gilbert.
SLPs from the VPI-OPS team worked this past week to analyze nasopharyngoscopy data!
From left to right: Taylor Snodgrass, MS (lab member); Dr. Sara Kinter; Dr. Adriane Baylis; Dr. Kelly Cordero, Jessica Williams, MS; Dr. Jamie Perry (lab director).
Dr. Perry and Taylor Snodgrass had a wonderful time @cleft2022 this past week. Many presentations given and heard, new and old collaborators talked with, and Scotland explored! Can’t wait until the next congress! #cleft2022
Check out this case study that describes the anatomy and physiology in a patient who presented with SATB2-associated syndrome and velopharyngeal insufficiency in the absence of an overt cleft palate. Way to go Dr. Perry, Taylor Snodgrass and collaborators from @PhxChildrens!
New Publication in The Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal! The research team (including Gabby Stowe, Eshan Schleif, and Dr.Jamie Perry) compared the rates of breast milk feeding among infants with cleft palate based on insurance status.
