BREAKING: Just weeks after the Obama Presidential Center opened, a Chicago-area subcontractor has shut down his business, claiming he is owed millions in unpaid bills from the project.

The contractor says he laid off several dozen workers and officially closed his doors this month.

Three additional subcontractors have now filed legal claims, alleging they are owed nearly $900,000 combined. The growing number of payment disputes is casting a shadow over the high-profile project.
