Quantum just received another wave of serious capital and coordination. The U.S. launched a $215M competition for fault-tolerant machines, IBM closed a $1B quantum chip foundry deal, and the ITU-UAE drill in Dubai tested real post-quantum cyber risks. These are not distant lab experiments. They are active infrastructure bets.

Crypto still defaults to “we’ll upgrade later.” That posture looks increasingly thin when governments and labs are funding the threat at this scale. A chain that is not quantum-resistant by design will eventually face a painful retrofit or worse.

Most chains are still optimising for speed and costs and are viewing quantum risk as a future fix.

The @dac_chain talk with @CyreneAI made the opposite argument: a next generation Layer 1 has to be built from the ground up for that future. Three things really stood out. To begin, quantum-resistant infrastructure is more than simply changing signatures later on.

Entrop-protected transactions are used by DAC to hide what reaches the network before it is sen. The aim is information-theoretic confidentiality, not a post-Q-day reconstruction. Second, Proof of Quantum Work modifies the security mechanism. Block creation depends on a quantum-native challenge that solely actual quantum computers can effectively solve instead of SHA-256 mining.

During the debate, the team presented PoQW as consensus with integrated quantum supremacy, targeting sub-second work over slower rival methods. Third, keeping the builder surface familiar will help one be ready for the following generation of digital infrastructure. EVM compatibility, a dual-asset structure (DACT for participation, DACC for execution), and architectural rather than supplementary security.

That is really what it takes: a Layer 1 with consensus, privacy, and execution that presume the cryptographic environment can alter, not a quantum narrative.

Combining entropy-based security, Proof of Quantum Work, and sharded execution inside an EVM-compatible Layer 1, DAC is tackling the quantum challenge using a protocol-first methodology.

The debate also emphasized DAC's dual-asset approach whereby operational costs are separated from network involvement, and a phased product plan meant to convert quantum-ready research into useful infrastructure.
