Linda mwananchi is a national movement which is yet to be converted into one national party. There has to be a leader Sifuna is inevitably the designated party leader. Trying to divide the movement into different regional parties isn’t a wise move, it’s an act of jealousy and entitlement. “Sisi Ndio Sifuna” is the people , that phrase alone which is bigger than lindamwananchi itself.

I was at Jacaranda jana in my The 6th-H.E Edwin Sifuna branding, and guys, the political dynamics were very different. Their biggest concern was seeing Hon Babu & H.E Orengo accommodated in party leadership positions. I read the mood and had to adjust accordingly.- Mimi nayo hakuna ground no matter how hostile sitawahi fika!

But honestly, their concerns are genuine and cannot be ignored. It was very real to them. They cannot understand how they cannot have party leadership, just as we cannot understand how H.E. cannot be both party leader and presidential candidate. It was eye-opening to see things from their POV.

But one thing remained constant: they all want ONE PARTY.

Our leaders must sit down and agree. I have read widely on how co-leadership can be accommodated within a party, including models where the Presidential Candidate retains veto powers on other party leadership positions. Germany and Wales have examples worth studying.

We must adopt what works for us.

As Prof @ProfKibwana said in our X Space jana, we would have let down a whole generation, Kenyans, aspirants and our support base if we disintegrate into many parties within LM. - I stand with this.

If we cannot agree on something as simple as ONE PARTY, guys… some of us will wash our hands and quietly return to the corporate world. Roho safi tu. I still believe in my ideal world where everyone can co-exist because we share the same values & principles.

Sometimes I look inwardly at myself and wonder, why is the bigger picture not as clear as it is anymore?
