Third call of the ’Excellence by Choice’ postdoctoral programme in life science, open until 29 Oct 2023. https://t.co/cimfGi1423 Our project is no.3 in the list🐟
#Villakskonferansen 2023 er i gang! Eva B. Thorstad og Torbjørn Forseth ønsker velkommen til de over 350 påmeldte 🤩Følg oss her for smakebiter fra konferansen!
Repeterte gytere = stor fisk?

We are now listening to Astrid Raunsgard talking about Phenotypic plasticity across genotypes of a large-effect locus in a population of Atlantic salmon
Extraordinary colleagues and data🇳🇴 Check out our new publication on iteroparity and life history across 179 Atlantic salmon populations in Norway https://t.co/LMRqi4W9y2 @SeaSalarScience @NINAnature@NINAforskning @SLUwildresearch
An Editor's Choice article on #Atlanticsalmon#restoration in the ICES Journal of Marine Science.
"With appropriate resources and research to resolve ongoing mysteries, restoration of lost Atlantic salmon populations is absolutely feasible"

As part of Ann-Britt Florin’s project on invasive round goby, we started migration experiments this week to compare the ability of the gobies with native pearch and bullhead in a vertical slot fish passage. Amazing facilities at Vattenfall Research and Development, Älvkarleby🤩
Don’t mind the date!! This job is STILL open!!! Postdoc working on #salmon#migration in beautiful BC with wonderful people, perhaps/probably/kinda with me! (at least in part) 🐟🐟
We consistently find that tagged salmon migrate earlier than untagged (see https://t.co/x4EwyIFh9f). @MagnusHulbak figured out why! https://t.co/eyMXj77uC5. Larger fish migrates earlier - so if you have size limit of how small salmon you tag you get a biased outmigration date.
Asp migration in full swing! 2nd year of tagging in our project to learn more about this fascinating cyprinid. Great collaboration with @uppsalalst and #Upplandsstiftelsen.
