@Ahavamalla It is very clear that kannada did not exist independently of sanskrit in karnataka. The Kadamba inscription is among the finest example suggesting that kannada did not emerge before the arrival and influence of sanskrit in karnataka.
@Gandaberunda007 The poems in the Ettuthogai were written by various poets and compiled by different individuals. Please do not spread misleading information in the name of sangam literature.
People should refer specifically to Ettuthogai & Pathuppattu instead of sangam literature
@Ahavamalla Could you please provide proof that the banavasi kadamba inscriptions were written entirely in Kannada without any influence from other languages?
@barath9500@Tamiladvent Theivasilaiyar's commentary on Tholkappiyam mentions that the term "Pancha Dravida" was used by the northern country people to identify the regions of present day TN & KL.
Dravida was not a name we commonly used for ourselves. It was given by the other countries people
@vellalarel88260 I had a different opinion about the worship of Lord Indra. The Pandyas used stories about Indra to emphasize their superiority. The story in Silapathikaram is also somewhat similar to the story of Lord Krishna with govardhana hill. In both stories Indran superiority is challenged
@vellalarel88260 The Puliman Kombai hero stones were not influenced by Jainism or other languages. These hero stones can be cited as evidence that tamil writing existed before Tholkappiyam.
@MeluhhakangZ Muthukumarasamy Pillai mentioned in his book that tamils in the Jaffna region practiced sambandam marriage due to malayali settlement in Jaffna.
@Nairhistory There is a hypothesis interpreted in Nannan ruled Ezhimala. The mountain name was later mispronounced by people as Elimalai. It is also suggested that Sanskritization led to the word Elimalai (Rat mountain) being transformed into Mushika. Ezhimalai still exists in Kannur district
@Ahavamalla Ancient Tamil literature & most Tamil grammatical commentaries are said to have not recognized Kannada as a separate language. It was describing Kannada derived from Tamil. Therefore, it is not accurate to claim that Sangam(ancient)literature mentions Kannada culture separately.
@barath9500@Tamiladvent The signboard still follows Tholkappiyam grammar.
If a northern word such as "Durga" enters the tamil language its grantha letter pronunciation should be removed and it should be written using only the letters that exist in tamil(Turka). Ancient tamil excluded grantha letters.
@barath9500@Tamiladvent The Pandalam royal family claimed descent from the Pandyan(Tamil) kingdom of madurai and had connections with the sabarimala temple as well. The vijayanagara empire did not capture the whole of ancient tamilagam.
