Locked in my application for a @kintsu Beta Access Pass NFT!
Kintsu's sMON is creating a new paradigm in liquid staking, fully decentralized and community driven. Ready to launch on Day 1 of @monad_xyz Testnet.

Great Mega TLDR. I very much encourage a read.
I also think people are still sleeping on the elegance of the rotational sequencer design, so I'll explain why I think it's cool.
🔹The feedback loop between user submitting a tx, that tx changing the state of the chain and apps reflecting those changes can be miniscule.
Imperceptible, even.
--------------------
Why is that, and why can't ~most chains achieve that today?
Due to consensus overhead when it's not decoupled from execution. Lets show some pictures.
Here is what a normal block creation flow looks like for any chain that either:
🔹Has consensus (e.g. L1s)
🔹Plans to have consensus (e.g. L2s decentralizing the sequencer)
They will:
• Collect transactions in some fashion (Solana streams to a leader, EVM chains collect in a mempool, etc)
• Build out/propose blocks
• Agree on blocks over their block time (consensus)
• Apps will ingest blocks and show users
Visualized
Things to note:
• We have a variable time (message from user to block builder) and a time with a lower bound of 200ms (consensus), which means cumulative time is at minimum 200ms.
• The consensus step has a static floor because it requires message passing throughout a set of machines of unknown distance. This means you should assume the time it takes for a message to go halfway across the world (avg distance) and back (NY to Tokyo is 200ms, so "halfway" is 100ms)
• The above is a physical limitation, not something to be patched out.
--------------------
Okay, cool, how is MegaETH dealing with it?
We remove consensus entirely, opting for a design where a single machine builds blocks for a period and then is rotated out.
With that move, both times are variable and based on how close both the user and applications are to said block builder (i.e. how co-located they are).
Visualized:
Things to note:
• The design is for an active sequencer, not our active sequencer. That means other parties will be able to run one eventually (and be punished if they misbehave).
• For co-located power users (like market makers), they can achieve <10ms time between tx submission and block being produced and returned to them.
• This is actually similar to what Solana is aiming to do with their async roadmap item (decouple execution from consensus [they already stream to a leader with a slot monopoly]) but that'll be a few years of R&D.
• We can preserve some additional user properties because we're an L2, like bypassing the sequencer altogether to withdraw your ETH to mainnet.

WRAPPING UP
I had no intentions of writing this today, but reading that thread got me excited about what we're doing so I wanted to dig in.
We're going to hit a new tier of onchain performance with what should have been (in my eyes) a very obvious construction. A tier that cannot be achieved if your chain has not separated consensus from execution.
We're going to make fun denominated in $ETH again. More to come.
Here is how the first 1,000 @megaeth quizzes scored after de-duping. Awesome reception.
Next steps:
🔹Clean up our inboxes
🔹Assign roles in Discord (50% done)
🔹Re-launch with more automation
🔹Add more ?s
We want this to be an ongoing mechanism for people to challenge themselves on industry questions (both cultural and technical), find weaknesses and work with each other to round out their knowledge base.
The goal is to entice community growth through quality, not quantity.
