@geerlingguy@EJennings98 If you’re ever in Ontario, please do a meet and greet! I’ve been wanting to meet you one of these days here in my home province.
@Techjunkie_Aman Yeah, that’s great and all for handheld users, but there’s still no word on SteamOS for desktop users unless you use a modified distro. Bazzite and ChimeraOS are cool, but I want an official desktop operating system from Valve.
@nvidia This is definitely just an announcement for their new desktop CPU. If they announce an RTX 60 series graphics card, it would make absolutely no sense, especially considering the 50 series is still brand new. I honestly don’t know anyone who owns one yet.
@TimSweeneyEpic So what people need to realize is not to spend money on computer hardware anytime soon unless prices drop significantly. Or just buy used. That’s basically all I do now. It’s been pretty easy to get good deals from people on Marketplace lately.
@1T4K8D8@MizoChris@NERHONv2 You’re a guinea pig using Microslop Windows either way 😂 No matter your stance on SteamOS or Linux, you can still install Windows 11 on the Steam machine. At the end of the day it’s just a prebuilt PC made by Valve.
@NERHONv2@MizoChris Spam your favorite anti cheat company to support Linux then. Linux doesn’t want kernel level access for a reason. As much as I support anti cheat, it’s still invasive. Linux’s stance is valid and there should be better ways to handle cheaters in online games.
@MizoChris Honestly, it’s an easy pick for kids, couch gamers, or people who don’t play demanding games. Pricing will make or break it for me. I’m a huge Valve hardware supporter, but these AI price hikes came at the worst time. Hopefully they end up in good homes, not scalpers’.
@WindowsLatest We don’t need more Microsoft apps. We need a clean, optimized OS with zero bloat. Let us install what we want. If it wasn’t for Windows IoT LTSC, I’d be fully on Linux already.
@WindowsLatest What Microsoft’s basically saying is instead of optimizing their OS, they expect you to just buy higher end hardware. Keeps OEMs happy and selling more hardware / machines. If you don’t see that, you’re blind, it’s just basic business.
Tried my first energy drink since high school and honestly what the hell is this. I had a sour rope Bang and it tastes exactly how cleaning chemicals smell. I don’t get how people drink this stuff every day 🤮
Guys if we don’t get the Steam Frame in the Steam Controller by May I’m gonna lose it. I don’t even care about the Steam Machine, I just want the VR and the controller.
@oProprioMaia There are two types of Canadians: those outside Toronto and those in Toronto who think that’s the whole country. I grew up there and barely cared about anything beyond the GTA. Living elsewhere reminds you there’s a whole world Torontonians never see.
@tomwarren Or just grab a simple script or tool from GitHub and disable it permanently. Still dumb to pause updates that long, at least update once a month. I’ve never had my PC reboot mid game or stream, must be a US thing.
@lafaiel I’ve seen tons of fake Samsung SSDs, but this bait and switch is hilarious. Everyone knows Samsung SSDs use black PCBs or those green server ones. Always funny seeing these pop up, feels like they’re only aimed at refund scams on Amazon.
@Lurkerr1565604@gnukeith We both know nobody’s gonna optimize anything, they’ll just keep making the experience worse. Why bother if it doesn’t make them more money. You know I’m right.
@gnukeith So basically budget phones now? Who’s buying these unless they’re like $50-100. I’ll stick with my current phone until it dies. This memory nonsense is getting ridiculous.
