The government is shutdown, but the House refuses to go back in session.
Why are we in recess?
Because the day we go back into session, I have 218 votes for the discharge petition to force a vote on releasing the Epstein files.
@SpeakerJohnson doesn’t want that to be the news.
We are tragically living in a time where our patriotism and even our Christianity is being measured by how ruthless and inhumane we can be rather than by how merciful and compassionate we can be.
When Trump’s head of CDC wouldn’t approve vaccine changes, he fired her.
When Trump’s head of FDA approved a new abortion drug, he kept him.
Because Trump is pro-choice. Indeed, now pro-abortion.
Trump and Vance told us during the election this was their position.
If you nonetheless voted for Trump, you knowingly voted for a pro-choice candidate.
Underline Article 1. And bold it. Consider italics.
And add something expressly about how people raising and using wheat on their own farm isn't "commerce among the several states." Yes, I know that sounds obvious. Trust me on this.
The Department of War is planning to conduct more offensive military strikes without a declaration of war.
The name change really does help highlight how rogue, unconstitutional, and unlawful the president’s actions are.
I understand why eye for an eye logic is satisfying for Republicans, but the full picture of what’s happening here is:
1. Trump doesn’t care about the law
2. and, relatedly, broke the law
3. and, relatedly, promoted a culture of law breaking in his admin
4. and now is demanding in open that the DOJ target and punish anybody who acted on points 1-3
5. and is using the fact that he was tried and convicted for crimes as justification for politicizing the DOJ to throw his opponents in jail
The principle that’s being promoted here is something like: The presidents who break the law the most have the highest moral claim to punish their enemies with lawfare.
And that’s bad.
There is no place where the saying "what you win them with is what you win them to" is truer than on social media. If you build a following by transgressing boundaries, you can't stop. You have to keep transgressing boundaries. And you're in a race with others doing the same.
Five siblings are waiting for their adoptive family in Kansas! Mya, Antwoine, Akeem, Aydan, and Aa’Liyaeh need a family in Kansas to give them a home. This is a wonderful opportunity for a church with an empty nester family, where the entire congregation pitches in to help.
The “rapture” is when Jesus Christ returns in glory, the dead in Christ are raised, the living in Christ will be changed, we will all be caught up to meet him in the air and then immediately join the procession with our King to the earth to judge and to reign over new creation.
Having experienced the ridiculous amount of baseless fearmongering medical professionals subject women to during pregnancy, all I’ll say is that you’d better have A LOT of data on your side before you give pregnant women yet another thing to be scared of and feel guilty about.
Good morning; the rapture is an eschatological heresy made up by a renegade Anglican priest in 1830s Ireland, and popularized by a heterodox Presbyterian in Gilded Age America. Relax. Do God’s work. Have a great day.
