@PJMurtagh My favourite football stickers of the morning. I especially like the medieval + contemporary vibe and the reclaiming of a lamp post from (what appears to be) Bayern Munich.
The #spiritofthenorth, by train, includes the view of Manchester Piccadilly station from platform 13/14, a fleeting glimpse of the Vimto sculpture and the magnificence of Preston station.
I always love starting a journey from #Nottingham train station. Light floods the building and it still retains a certain glamour that makes the beginning of a journey feel like an adventure. #essenceofthemidlands
A walk through Sheffield to @ArcHeritageYAT offices is always a joy. There’s interesting details around every corner. I love the fact that there’s a pub named after part of the steel production process. #spiritofthenorth
@NicolaSturgeon Take no pride in the Scottish rail service tonight. It’s an utter shambles. You need to sit down with @ScotRail, Abellio and @networkrail to find out why it takes 2 hours to get between Edinburgh and Glasgow tonight. This is a vote loser.
@MathesonMichael I made my meeting, eventually, and I’m now back in Waverley trying to get back to Glasgow. It’s an utter shambles, total #chaos, and with v little moving. I’m being told by disgruntled staff that lack of maintenance investment is an issue. Will you investigate?
@HumzaYousaf@MathesonMichael Great stats for yesterday but they’re being burnt down today and the embers are blowing away in the hot air. Total nightmare on the Scottish rail network today because our signaling and trackside infrastructure can’t handle hot weather!
@MathesonMichael It’s your 1st day on the job and there are transport problems to solve. 1 day of hot weather and the @scotrail route between Queen Street and Waverley, serving Falkirk, is failing. Speed restrictions on the line and lots of unhappy commuters - it’s embarrassing.
I’m often left a little disappointed by archaeological reporting, but this is a jolly piece as it manages to capture a certain essence inherent in archaeology. https://t.co/MpMn40Bn9C
@pipearchive There’s a fantastic installation inspired by, and re-using, clay pipes in the @waspsstudios Briggait as part of the #Gi2018 festival. Re-contextualising the pipes to ask questions about cultural production and our colonial past. Fantastic!
@CaraJones82 Ha ha! I’m hoping we are a little less rigid than table football. Luckily @landward_rsrch didn’t mention anything about restoring the natural order.
