If you are able to feed your children properly every day, please, as much as possible, avoid sending them to spend holidays or even weekends with relatives who are struggling to provide food, just because you want them to bond with their cousins.
They'll either starve your children, or call them "spoilt" just because your children wanted two boiled or fried eggs, eight slices of bread, or more than one piece of meat.
They may even say something awful to your kids that could have a long-term damaging effect on their psyche.
Poverty is bad.
End.
I have been reading your comments on the post that I made this morning.
The post is basically pointing at a real pattern a lot of people notice: plenty of attractive, educated, financially independent women in that 24–30 range who aren’t getting married (or aren’t getting the kind of marriage interest they expect), and then asking why the money and looks aren’t enough.
A few things are usually happening at once:
First, a lot of these women are competing for a smaller pool of men who meet their standards.
Once a woman is making good money, has a degree, and is used to a certain lifestyle, she usually wants a man who is at least roughly at her level or above on income, education, status, or all three.
That pool is smaller than the total number of men, and those men often have options. Many of them are either already taken, dating casually, or less interested in locking down a high-earning, career-focused woman in her late 20s.
The “beautiful and has money” part doesn’t automatically solve the status-matching problem.
Second, a lot of men in that age range still prefer (or at least feel more comfortable with) women who seem more traditionally oriented toward family, even if the man himself is also working.
When a woman is heavily career-driven, some men read that as lower interest in having kids soon, less willingness to compromise on location or lifestyle, or higher conflict over domestic roles later.
Whether that reading is fair or accurate in any individual case is another matter; the perception is common enough that it shrinks the pool of men who are actively trying to marry her.
Third, the window matters. Twenty-four to thirty is still prime years for a lot of women, but many of the men who are in a position to marry seriously (stable job, some money saved, less chaotic lifestyle) are a bit older or are still sorting themselves out.
By the time those men are ready, some of the women in this group have already spent years dating and filtering hard, and their remaining options feel narrower.
Independence removes the old financial pressure to settle, which is good in many ways, but it also means more people stay single longer while waiting for something that checks every box.
The “so what is the problem?” framing was me assuming the only variables that should matter are looks and money.
In practice, people still select for compatibility on values, lifestyle, personality, and future plans. When those don’t line up easily, the money doesn’t override it.
On solutions, it depends who is involved.
If the goal is more of these women getting married to men they actually like, the practical levers are mostly on the expectations side: either expand the range of men they’re open to (income, age, lifestyle, personality type), or get clearer and earlier about what they’re willing to trade off (career pace, location, domestic division).
Some do this; many don’t want to.
On the men’s side, the ones who want high-earning wives usually need to be high-earning or high-status themselves, or they need to be unusually good in other areas (stability, character, sex, etc) that compensate.
There’s no clean fix that makes “beautiful + making her own money” automatically equal “high marriage demand from the men she wants.”
The incentives and preferences on both sides have shifted, and the numbers reflect that.
End.

For those of you in business, contracts and sales, I have a valuable update that could be a game changer for you.
AVOID ROUNDING UP YOUR FIGURES.
When you quote a rounded number like 50 million naira or 150,000 naira, it sounds like a guess. Your client immediately thinks you made it up and their first instinct is to negotiate aggressively.
But when you quote 47,382,500 naira or 142,800 naira, something shifts in their mind. It looks calculated. It looks like you actually did the maths. And when a figure looks measured, people are far less likely to challenge it.
For example: A building contractor who says "50 million naira" sounds like he is estimating. One who says "48,972,345 naira" sounds like he broke down every brick, rod and labour cost. Same job. Completely different perception.
A food vendor who says "150,000 naira for 12 packs" invites negotiation. One who says "142,800 naira" sounds like that is simply what the calculation produced.
Also, avoid the 99 figures. 4,999. 59,999. 599,999. Those are supermarket stickers. Everyone knows what you are doing. They make you look like a retail shelf, not a serious business person.
Use figures that end in 40, 55, 68, 80 and similar. They signal that something specific was calculated to arrive at that number.
Perception is everything in business. Make your numbers look calculated/measured.
Above all, love God.

One of the richest men in Nigeria, Kunle Soname spoke the truth about how the Nigerian economy has made it impossible for our clubs to win the CAF Champions League.
Enyimba won it with the best players in Nigeria and a Gov that didn’t pay lip service to football.
Before 2020, I was always leaving the house every day of the week to work.
Sometimes, I would return home at 8 or 9pm.
Once I enter the house, my wife would welcome me.
On the TV, she would be watching one movie or series.
Then she will change the channel to CNN or BBC for me and ask me to go shower and have dinner.
"This is what you stay at home all day to do. Watch Telemundo or Zee world. You stay at home all day doing nothing. I go out every day to earn money to provide you for you and these children. Lazy woman!"
She won't say anything to me.
She'll go to the kitchen and wait for me to shower before dishing out my food.
I would notice that her eyes were blurry.
In the morning, I would be off by latest 6:30 am.
One day, I came back home, and my wife said that she wanted to discuss with me.
"Sweetie, I am depressed. I want to go back to work. I feel like I am useless in this marriage and I am not contributing anything to it. Please, help me find a job"
I blasted her and told her that I got a job without her, and I used my qualifications to apply, and that she should do same.
My wife cried so much that night.
Then came covid 19...
My office had asked us to start working from home.
Monday to Friday, I was home working.
My kids were still going to school under strict covid rules.
I started studying my wife more.
This woman was not resting.
I figured that she was only watching those series or shows just to stay awake to welcome me back home.
She was busier than I was.
She showed me what it meant to have a wife who is a housewife.
One day, I could not take it anymore.
"Baby, you have been asking me to pay you monthly salary, I think you're right. I will be giving you the money"
Covid made me appreciate my lovely wife, more.
Despite dating her for 9 years, I still could not see that God had blessed me enormously.
Because I was carried away by my female colleagues that were age mates with me and working.
And I wanted my wife to "fit in".
I was wrong.
That was why in 2021, I came here to write that a housewife that is playing her role effectively and efficiently without bringing a dime is not a liability.
It took me years into marriage to realize this.
My lovely wife is a hard worker.
And I have seen and still seeing the results of her hardwork on our lovely children.
Our children are so smart and they're high flyers in their schools.
Not only that, they are well behaved and very respectful and contented with what they have.
All made possible because of my lovely wife.
As a man, if you have a wife like mine, please be kind and be patient with her.
Yes, she may not be bringing money, but that's not her primary role or responsibility.
Your Lovely wife is more valuable to you than the money that you hope to be getting from her.
Only if you will open your brain and mind to understand me.
End.
If I were the Nigerian government, I'll ban all social media content or skit makers from promoting any betting platforms.
These betting platforms have made many of us lazy, and it has ruined many lives and families.
Betting platforms are a ponzy scheme.
End.
Six years after #EndSARS, police have teargassed Nigerians trying to lay wreaths at Lekki Toll Gate. Governorship candidates, journalists, and residents were dispersed before the memorial could begin. The wreaths were never laid. The police have no explanation. The more things change, the more they stay the same. #EndSARSMemorial #EndSARS
Saw this on one of my Whatsapp groups.
EKEDC IN DESPERATION
_____
I installed an 18kW solar power system at my property in Lekki Phase 1, relegating EKEDC supply to a backup status. Since then, I have been having more frequent visits from personnel of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), coming to check my prepaid meter.
On one of those visits, the EKEDC team stood watching the meter for motion to indicate consumption. When the meter wasn't moving, they called me to say they suspected I had bypassed the meter. I told them I had enough solar power for my daytime needs and only used their supply as a backup for the dark hours. To prove this to them, I switched on my inverter bypass for about 2 minutes so my consumption would be from EKEDC. They saw the meter rotating normally. They were visibly upset and one of them mumbled something like "This ọ̀gá no wan gree us chop". They left.
Today (19-Oct-2026), three of them came to my premises with a notice of disconnection. The last time I loaded an EKEDC token was in July 2026 and I still had ample units left. When I asked why they would disconnect me, they said the reason was "LOR" (Loss of Revenue). They said my slow consumption indicates a faulty meter and I had to pay them ₦112,606 for loss of revenue.
I told them my meter was not faulty and that they could test it if they wanted. The lady said they were losing revenue and they had to make up for it.
I didn't know whether to laugh or to be angry. I have no intention of paying EKEDC a dime for its loss of revenue due to my taking steps to protect my interest.
But, I share this story for all who are investing in solar power to know that the DisCos are now desperate. They now have "Loss of Revenue" as a reason for your disconnection from their supply. It is simply that they are not making enough money from you.
I am waiting for EKEDC to disconnect me from their grid before I lodge a formal complaint to the regulatory authority.
We are in interesting times in Nigeria!

Killed By Nigeria Police
1. Anthony Enruchi Obodo (2004–2026) was a 22-year-old graduate of the University of Port Harcourt who was shot and killed by operatives of the Nigeria Police on 27 August 2026. Obodo was driving a car when he was pursued and shot by police officer. He was left by the roadside in a pool of blood.
2. On 26 April 2026, in Effurun Delta state Mene Ogidi, a 28-year-old man, was extrajudically killed by a police officer after being restrained to the ground and shot twice at close-range.
In various such cases where victims of police extrajudicial executions, torture or other ill-treatment attempted to seek justice, the authorities took no action.
This lack of accountability breeds and perpetuates impunity, creating an environment where Nigerian police believe they have carte blanche to carry out atrocities.
Nigerians have this mentality of wanting to be better than the next person. It is not enough that you are winning, you have to be better than the next person or your win is not fulfilling.
That is why as a country we will never go far. You can trace this reasoning to every aspect of our lives - even politics. Politicians keep you poor because they need people to worship them. People who japa will tell you that the place don dey cast because other people are coming into the country themselves migrated to. A restaurant is no lo ger luxurious because more people can afford it even though it is expensive.
We are too poor for the standard we set.
It’s been six years since thousands of Nigerian youths across the country took to the streets to protest against police brutality, extrajudicial killings and extortion by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
The police has continued to harass, extort and kill Nigerians.👇🏾
In some families, everyone sells what they have to support one person. Even the siblings' education are sacrificed. Those siblings would go look for any type of work to do - even the work that comes with humiliation, - and still send you money to support you.
If people are crying about black tax, you better keep quiet. You're a product of black tax yourself. Always know the family you come from. Don't let privileged people tell you about black tax.
People will tell you that "everybody will be alright even if you don't help." Na lie ooo. You would not have been alright if they didn't sacrifice for you. Ensure the people that looked after you are well looked after. Ensure your family can feed.
Some of you blew up as superstars in whatever field you delved into. You're the light in your family. Accept your reality. Money eaten alone is not sweet.
If you have recently encountered a Mercedes-Benz ML350 with number plate YAB389AT, it's a stolen car please.

There are two major phases of parenting.
The formative phase, which the mother is mostly responsible for, and the adolescent phase which the father is mostly responsible for.
If you do not marry a good wife and allow her to take charge while giving her all the support, you'll struggle badly as a father when it gets to your turn.
The 40-year-old married woman whose story we read on the back page is an example.
At age 8, her son is already threatening to report his mother to his father because she wants to discipline him for being recalcitrant.
Why is this so?
Because her husband (their father) always scolds his wife (their mother) in the presence of their children each time she tries to discipline them.
What is he doing?
He's not allowing his wife to lay a proper foundation for the child.
If this continues, by the time the boy reaches adolescence, he will start to misbehave.
Especially as his father is a wealthy man.
And he's going to find it difficult to control the boy.
What typically happens to young boys who were raised badly, is that they'll strat to watch porn at a very young age, join bad groups and start to bully their classmates.
Because if anything happens, their father will be there to defend them.
They say that a child who usually has the backing of his parents will use both legs to break a door to steal.
And the one who remembers the type of strict home he or she comes from will use only one leg.
That's a very simple adage that carries a profound meaning.
You don't scold your wife in the presence of your children because she tried to instill discipline on them.
In fact, your wife's role is to enforce your discipline and rules or laws.
"If you don't do this, I'll report you to your father when he gets back".
And not...
"If you touch me, I'll report you to Daddy when he gets back".
Even if you may not like her manner or style of discipline, you can caution her in private but defend her in public.
Your wife and children must see that you and their mother are in unison in decision-making, even if one of you does not like the style or method.
That's what effective communication will help you achieve in your marriage.
Spare the rod and spoil the child.
End.
