@PieInLDN @LDNLutonAirport ... yes, there are many stands and hard standings airside at @LDNLutonAirport; however, on this occasion the patient was landside just inside the terminal building. Landing the helicopter airside on a stand would have caused preventable and potentially life threatening delay...

@PieInLDN @LDNLutonAirport I was part of the initial medical response to this incident; having the Air Ambulance land as close as possible is invaluable! It means highly trained doctors are on scene faster, and reduces the delay in transport between incident site and hospital in time critical situations...

In fact, you’re subjected to more radiation on the plane/flight itself than you are from the airport scanner!
