This is the best/most important rule change made heading in to 2023. But it’s not enough.

Next step is to take the 20+ IP rule, in a previous professional season, and eliminate position players pitching in Major League Baseball completely.

Position players won't be allowed to pitch in situations like this in 2023. A position player can now only pitch in an MLB game if the game is in extra innings, if his team is losing by 8+ runs, or if his team is winning by 10+ runs in the 9th inning.

What doesn’t make any sense is that they would pitch differently in shorts vs pants.

Coaches overthink this. Just tell them you want them to wear pants. It can be because you like it better. No need to make up a physiological reason.
