"Why three horses on this wall?"
A wonderful piece on prehistoric cave art. By Stephen Phelan, who was taken into the depths of a cave in the Basque Country. He's such a good writer.

"To suggest she has no responsibility for that, and to link that lack of responsibility to her sex, is a form of infantilisation that will do women no good in the long-run." My @heraldscotland column on Murrell and Sturgeon. https://t.co/7gkwPJQrWp
The new book is a collection of 54 mini-chapters/essays about various aspects of the Sprouts and their music (and sometimes beyond; there's one about ex-England captain Bryan Robson).
Plus a few typically Tassell quests, including tracking down the most famous motorbike in pop.

"A madcap reputation has tended to obscure what they really are: a formidable songwriting force."

"In A Working Mother, Owens transforms difficulties from her own life into a glorious work of art in which nothing is quite what it seems." My @heraldscotland review of all the Agnes Owens' books reissued by Polygon so far to mark her centenary. https://t.co/PXbKfJQZuu
"A beautiful, captivating book ..."
I'm grateful to Joanne for this review of Upon A White Horse and for her support of my work over the years. Thank you, Joanne. I'm glad you thought the book as good as Steeple Chasing and A Tomb With A View.
“This fascinating and formidably well-researched book has completely changed my view of fairies.” Thank you to Ian Bradley for this terrific review of ‘Fairies: A History’ in @ChurchTimes: https://t.co/3wXh6wS4zH 🧚♀️📚
