I cannot wait to volunteer for @AlzResearchUK in June.
Got some lovely compliments from the team last time. Team cheer squad, for this wonderful charity. 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Helen is a volunteer who helps to cheer people on when they are doing charity races for @AlzResearchUK.
Her husband, who was mid-40s, had early onset dementia whilst the couple had young children. She hopes that her volunteering will do some good towards raising the profile of the illness.

The disease is now the country's biggest killer and it affects women more than men.
@JamesGooderson reports.
Thank you to @GMB for featuring us this morning.
We're calling on the government to take action, as new data reveals over 75,000 deaths were due to dementia during 2023.
That's more than any other cause of death.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is once again thrilled to announce our support of the @ITV campaign, 1 Million Minutes!

Rebecca Hand, Director @buckner_intl "volunteer engagement was not held at the same level of accountability as other programs...to be viewed as an irreplaceable & critical part of our mission...prove our impact both internally and externally to our stakeholders. #AVM2024
Samela Macon, VP @buckner_intl "without them [volunteers], we couldn't have accomplished our work. And they weren't employees. They were volunteers...getting to know them on a personal level, understanding their passion & their love for their community...opened my eyes" #AVM2024
"...volunteerism had the potential to strengthen our organisational brand...knowing that donors like to volunteer where they give...very important for us to have a healthy, robust volunteer engagement program because it's part of the experience for some of our donors." #AVM2024
